This is where it all begins. Whether you’re new to the guitar or just new to flamenco, this course was designed to teach you what you need to know to not only play flamenco, but to truly understand how flamenco works so that you can play now, but also continue learning. This course will give you the fundamentals of flamenco that many spend a lifetime trying to grasp.
We start at the very beginning and take you step by step through your first authentic flamenco guitar solo.
We show you all of the great flamenco guitar techniques you need to know with concise and thorough lessons and exercises.
We don’t just teach you a flamenco guitar solo – we explain how flamenco works so that you truly understand and can continue learning.
This is the most extensive, practical, easy to follow guide of Flamenco guitar I’ve ever come across. Sure you can find tonnes of free flamenco videos on YouTube but to be able to give yourself a structure and follow these lessons with a bit more of a chronology is defo worth the $20 a month, cheaper than a single face to face lesson per month and the resources are there for whenever you want to play
I’ve taken quite a few online courses- for work, school, and hobbies- I’ve even helped build and design courses for top tier universities- and I can definitively Kai’s Ultimate Flamenco course is the single best online course I’ve ever encountered. His videos are well thought out and make learning flamenco incredibly approachable, enjoyable, and have done wonders to correct flaws in my technique that I wasn’t aware of. At the end of the first full course, I felt comfortable playing basic soleras, and more importantly felt like I understood the basics behind the music and have a clear understanding of how to progress. This is significantly underpriced- I’d easily expect to pay 2-3x this amount for the sort of impact it’s had on my guitar.
We designed this course to be a distillation of the most important concepts in flamenco, broken down into a system I’ve been developing for over 25 years. This is the system that made so many of my students say things like “man, you need to write this down.” If you already play guitar or even if you already play some flamenco, we strongly encourage you take this course before continuing to the rest of the site. The concepts in this course will unlock many of the ‘mysteries’ of flamenco – that stuff that makes people think that flamenco is just too different or too hard to learn. It will also help you understand what I’m talking about in the rest of the videos on the site.
We never said this would be easy, but we also know that anyone can learn flamenco guitar if they have the proper guide and a good attitude. We’ve taught hundreds of people to play real, authentic flamenco. This course is your first and most important step towards doing that yourself.
Because you’ve always wanted to, of course! Depending on where you live, it wasn’t always easy, or even possible, to learn flamenco guitar. Now it’s easy to get great instruction and actually learn to play authentic flamenco. Try our Free Trial and you’ll see.

I learned flamenco the old-fashioned way, back before the internet. By the time I went to Berklee to study theory and stuff, I’d already been playing flamenco for almost 10 years. Seems that the combination of learning flamenco first, then studying music, all combined with being the kind of person who likes to analyze things, made me really good at helping folks understand how flamenco works. And that’s what we bring to Flamenco Explained – a method of explaining this amazing art form in a way that actually makes sense to people who didn’t grow up playing it. Give us a try and see for yourself.

Don’t let anyone tell you it’s too hard – it’s music! We’ll get you actually playing flamenco in no time. If nerding out is fun for you, we have lots of that, too. But if not, we get straight to the point in a way that will make sense.
Finally somebody who explains it right from the start and not just showing a couple of movements and patterns. Great Job, thx…..
It’s great that you cover what never gets mentioned elsewhere! I’ve also gone back to counting even while putting together a new falseta. It’s especially great brain exercise when the falseta is all syncopated. If I can count in those conditions, I know it’s getting locked in.
I’ve tried learning flamenco with online lessons from a few instructors. Kai is definitely the best with very clear explanations that have helped me push past some issues I was having.
Seriously! Teaching people to play authentic flamenco guitar is what we do, and we’re good at it. Our site’s not about you watching people play stuff you’ll never understand. It’s about helping you actually understand how it all works, and showing you how. If you’re ready to learn to play flamenco guitar, try our free trial and see for yourself.
