Compás, a Flamenco Metronome
About this Metronome
This metronome is a specialized tool designed for flamenco guitarists, dancers, and musicians who want to practice with authentic flamenco rhythmic patterns. Featuring many of the palos (rythmic patterns) most common in flamenco--including 12-beat patterns like soleá and bulerías, 4-beat patterns such as tientos and tangos, as well as siguiriyas, traditionally counted in 5 beats--this metronome helps you internalize the rhythmic foundation essential for flamenco performance.
Designed for both practice and learning, this metronome allows you to start slowly and gradually build speed as you develop confidence and precision in your flamenco technique.
We are providing this metronome free of charge to the flamenco community.
Special Features:
The app will remember the last palo you selected and the last tempo you used for each palo, so you can pick up where you left off when you revisit this page.

Understanding the Beat Display
The metronome displays beat numbers as it plays. For 12-beat compás patterns (like soleá and bulerías), beats are numbered 1-12. For siguiriyas, the unique 5-beat pattern shows numbers with “+” and “a” for subdivisions.
