Flamenco Explained is a great concept and brilliantly executed by Kai and Tara. The content is comprehensive and covers all bases. Kai’s plain English explanations and demonstrations really help in getting to grips with the practice and theory and there’s tons of links to related areas to build understanding and appreciation. I wouldn’t be without it.

I’ve tried several flamenco platforms, this one takes the cake. The way kai explains everything, the singing along with the beat counting is absolutely perfect. Im really enjoying this method of learning, it feels like the teacher is right there with you. I just wish there was more content for some of the less popular palos like farruca for example.

Extensive Content | The content is expansive and what feels like comprehensive. If there’s something I want to learn or if I’m following along on the book there’s a corresponding video that demonstrates it. The only thing I wish this has that it currently doesn’t would be the corresponding music sheet for the falsetas but audio / visual learning as a form of picking up flamenco is also transitional so it’s not a knock.

One of my favorite music learning apps out there. I really like the style , direct to the point. I’ve paid for other ones where teacher keeps talking too much , giving little info. This is clear, straight to the point, and affordable in my opinion.

Kai = Best Online Teacher | I’ve played Classical for a few years and Flamenco 6 months. I’ve watched a lot of fire players poorly explain their techniques. Kai is different. Not only is he a terrific player, he takes the time to properly explain the techniques/counts/feel you need to play flamenco. If you’re lucky enough to find a decent flamenco instructor and take personal lessons, do that and use this as a supplement. But if you can’t find someone, these lessons are the next best thing

I decided to pick up the guitar again during the pandemic and came across Kai's video lessons on YouTube. I really liked the music and his stlyle of teaching. The yearly subscription is absolutely worth the price. Clicking on YouTube is like going down a rabbit hole. I also thought about taking lessons again. But honestly, I've had a couple of teachers in my youth and another in my mid twenties…it's been a while, but I don't remember any of my lessons being so well explained – Flamenco Explained!

I’ve studied with legends — Paco Serrano, Gerardo Nunez, etc. — and I can confidently say that my friend Kai Narezo has the most organized approach to this topic of anyone. He is very bright, very thoughtful and extremely gifted, both in playing and, crucially, in teaching. A lot of players just don’t have that. Kai does. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Flamenco Explained is Amazing! | If you want to learn Flamenco and are not sure where to start this is definitely the app to use. From beginner to advanced there is something here for everyone. What I truly love about Flamenco Explained is that the lessons are well thought out, thorough, and Kai Narezo is a great teacher. There are some great free lessons here but the subscription is absolutely worth it! Love this app!

Great source! | I returned from Jerez wanting to learn this, but couldn’t find anyone around me that knows. This is a great source of instruction and basic techniques to get you into the door, I love the clear instructions of his videos and the fact you can repeatedly watch it until it makes sense. Also private lessons are available with details and personalized instructions. I am really grateful for being introduced to this through the grapevine of His other student in Jerez.

Kai and the FE team’s videos and lessons are phenomenally clear, helpful, fun and interesting. This companion app to the FE video suite is easy to use, well designed, and a huge value add, especially to supplement FE’s Survival Guide book. Flamenco Explained | I have only been playing Flamenco for a about a year at the time of this review… I absolutely love it! I am fortunate enough to have a great teacher locally to help guide me twice a month. I am also happy to have found Kai and his “Flamenco Explained” to fill in an supplement areas of technique / theory / history / etc… that an hour long lesson is limited by. With all of the videos and information here I am free at my will to explore an grow further with easy access especially if you have the iPhone app. Definitely happy to have Kai’s wealth of knowledge an passion for this beautiful music at my finger tips.

Super easy and fun to learn this way
Great material for studying flamenco guitar. Kai understands how to teach very well, also the little things you don’t want to rush, he takes his time. Also the camera angles are excellent. I recommend this app to everyone who wants to learn flamenco, from beginners to more advanced players.
I’ve tried learning flamenco with online lessons from a few instructors. Kai is definitely the best with very clear explanations that have helped me push past some issues I was having.

This is the most extensive, practical, easy to follow guide of Flamenco guitar I’ve ever come across. Sure you can find tonnes of free flamenco videos on YouTube but to be able to give yourself a structure and follow these lessons with a bit more of a chronology is defo worth the 15 a month, cheaper than a single face to face lesson per month and the resources are there for whenever you want to play 9.5/10

A great app and a wealth of information. The tone strikes a nice balance between an academic approach and folk approach to teaching music. Whether you studied classical or learned by ear, I think you will a lot from this app. The different flamenco forms are clearly laid out and there is a ton of material to help you build up all the pieces you need to improvise. There are also set pieces for the forms that give you a foundation for improvising if you don’t know how to put it all together.
Love these lessons and the explanations are easy and clear. The entire platform is very professionally put together.

Excellent. Flamenco guitar is extremely complicated compared to most other genres, but Kai Narezo explains it extremely well. He is well spoken, articulate and clear. You couldn’t ask for a better app.
